What exactly is the difference between Europe and French Canada?
I've heard of Quebec "STE" a lot and have a vocabulary different, as "magasiner" and "la fin de semaine". What other differences with the French in France? Are there websites that can explain well?
Hello! The main difference is phonetic words – some are pronounced differently and there is some "accent" a French Candian. In terms of vocabulary is French Candian influence of English (ie, Bekosse Quebec version of "Backhouse ":)), but also maintains a lot of vocabulary age from 17 to 18 province-century France. Candian French is different from the "norm" French in the use of "great massacre" Church terms such as swear words. I've been in several paragraphs of France and I am yet to hear anything about that. Wikepidia may explain some of the differences. Hope that help!
